2026 Youth Art Show — "Dreams on the Prairie"
Every fall, PLACES gives Piedmont's young artists a wall of their own to showcase their talent and creativity. The Youth Art Show returns on Founder's Day, Saturday, September 12, filling a booth at First Baptist Church Piedmont with original artwork from kids and teens across our community — and everyone in town is invited to come see it.
This year's theme, Dreams on the Prairie, celebrates what makes Piedmont home.
Artists age 11 and under are asked to create something inspired by the theme;
artists 12 and up are free to submit any subject.
THE DETAILS
Show date: Saturday, September 12, 2026, 9 am–3 pm
Location: First Baptist Church, Piedmont (as part of Founder's Day)
Entry deadline: Wednesday, September 9, by 5 pm
Drop-off location: Piedmont Library
(starting Aug. 31)
Ages: 5–18, divided into five age groups (5–6, 7–9, 10–11, 12–14, 15–18)
Theme: "Dreams on the Prairie" — required for ages 11 and under;
optional for ages 12 and up
Medium: Any flat medium (drawing, painting, mixed media on a flat surface, etc.)
Not accepted: Collages or framed artwork
Size limit: No larger than 11" x 14"
PRIZES
First, second, and third place will be awarded in each of the five age groups, judged before the show.
